What is Padel?
- Padel is a racquet sport that originated in Mexico in 1969 but gained popularity primarily in Spain and Latin American countries. It is often compared to tennis and squash due to similarities in gameplay. Padel is typically played in doubles on an enclosed court about half the size of a tennis court. The court features walls and a meshed fence, allowing players to use the walls to bounce the ball during play.
- The equipment used in padel includes solid paddles (similar to those used in racquetball) and a pressurized ball (similar to a tennis ball). The scoring system is similar to tennis, with points awarded when the opposing team fails to return the ball or commits a fault.
- Padel is known for its social/inclusive nature and super forgiving game play environment, making it accessible to players of all ages and skill levels. It combines elements of strategy, skill, and physical fitness, making it an enjoyable sport for both recreational and competitive players alike.

How long does a Padel match last?
- The duration of a padel match can vary depending on several factors, including the level of play, the number of sets played, and whether it's a casual or competitive match. Typically, a standard padel match consists of the best of three sets, with each set played to a certain number of games or points.
- In professional or competitive settings, a padel match can last anywhere from 1 to 2 hours on average. However, matches may be shorter or longer depending on factors such as the skill level of the players, the pace of play, and the competitiveness of the match.
- In casual or recreational play, matches may be shorter and more flexible in terms of timing, often lasting around an hour to 1.5 hours.
